Gender stereotyping, biases, and discrimination cost dreams and lives every day. From gun violence to climate change, gender stereotypes are at the center of the world's most pressing issues.
DREAM EQUAL is working towards a world in which all people are empowered to realize their full potential, regardless of gender.
Our Story
Inspired by her personal experiences with gender stereotyping, 19-year-old Ina Bhoopalam founded DREAM EQUAL to combat the gender-based issues she faced growing up. While researching ways to take action against gender inequality, Ina discovered many unaddressed problems within the current gender equality movement and decided to found DREAM EQUAL to confront them. Since its founding as a local Nebraskan non-profit, DREAM EQUAL has spread to over 35 cities and is serving youth all around the world.

DREAM EQUAL is REVOLUTIONARY,tackling gender inequality in ways no one has ever done before, with intersectionality at its core.
WHY WE ARE
UNIQUE
PROACTIVE
We created an organization that focuses on gender stereotypes in youth even before they develop, trying to prevent their negative effects for future generations. Our aim is to build a better future, rather than simply lessen the problems that already exist in the present.
INCLUSIVE
Gender inequality affects everyone: men, women, and non-binary people. That's why we fight for all genders at DREAM EQUAL, not just cis girls.
ACCESSIBLE
We seek to center all gender identities, sexual orientations, socioeconomic statuses, races, and ability levels in our fight for gender equality.
